Chosen and Seen

Being a woman in ministry has its challenges. There are times when I feel alone, forgotten, and unseen while serving. It’s in those hard seasons—when I feel underappreciated—that God reminds me I am valued, highly regarded, and essential to His plan.

All throughout Scripture, Jesus interacted with women, giving them meaningful roles in His redemptive story. From the beginning of His ministry, we see that women traveled with Him and supported Him out of their own means (Luke 8:3). He had transformed their lives, and they served in the best way they knew how—meeting His personal needs so that He could continue the ministry God had called Him to.

On one such journey, Jesus met a Samaritan woman at a well in the middle of the day. Defying social norms, He spoke with her and told her about the life He came to offer. Without hesitation, she went back to her village and became a witness for Christ (John 4). Later, as Jesus’ earthly ministry drew to a close, it was women He entrusted to first share the news of His resurrection (Matthew 28:8–10).

God chose those women to serve—He has chosen you!

God values the role He has given you in ministry. He sees you in the moments when you think no one else does. He walks with you and encourages you to continue on. Listen for His voice, find strength in His Word, and follow His lead. As you faithfully fulfill the role God has given you, know this: You are seen.

So, thank you for serving!

Thank you for the long days, late nights, and weekends you give so your girls know they are loved and valued. Thank you for your preparation and attention to detail that create a safe place for them to belong. Thank you for your consistency and dedication, showing them what perseverance looks like. Thank you for teaching the Word so they can know Christ as Savior and grow closer to Him. Thank you for investing your time in the next generation so girls see that they can lead—and know that they too are highly regarded and essential to God’s plan.

And whatever season you’re in right now—Keep Going.

God’s plan has placed you right where you are to share His redemptive story with the girls you serve. Don’t let Satan steal that calling through his lies. Instead, stay in the Word and let Jesus remind you daily of your value and His purpose for your life.
